Late Edo State Ex-Governor, Ogbemudia Prepared His Own Grave - Son Opens Up

Family members have revealed on Friday that former Military Governor of the old Bendel State, Samuel Ogbemudia, prepared his own grave before his death.

The news of the death of Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia, former Military and Civilian Governor of the defunct Midwest and Bendel state, has been confirmed by members of his family.
 
According to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Ogbemudai died at on Thursday at a private hospital in Lagos at the age of 84.
 
Sam Ogbemudia (Junior) confirmed the death of his father in his official residence on Friday in Benin, saying that he would miss everything about his father, adding that his father taught him almost everything in life from childhood to adult.
 
“I learnt so much from him. He was a wonderful man. I will miss everything about him; both his biological children and non biological ones.”
 
Ogbemudia Junior, the eldest child of the deceased, told journalists on Friday at the Iheya family house, that his father prepared his own grave before his death which is just besides that of his late mother within the family compound.
 
When asked if his late father gave any particular reason for the act, he responded saying, “anybody can do that.”
 
On what he would miss about his late father, Mr. Ogbemudia Junior said, “I will miss everything about him.”

“I, and all those who had contact with him, have all learnt a great deal from him; he was a father, not just to his children, but to all. He was a great man," he said.
