President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday afternoon did not join Muslim faithful for Jumat service inside a mosque located beside his office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, reports Punch.

The President had at the inception of his administration stopped worshiping at the National Mosque, Abuja to spare residents the difficulty they always face as a result of roadblocks associated with presidential movements.

After arriving the country, Buhari had since retired to his official residence after meeting some government officials at the First Lady Conference Hall.

Some government officials including the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, among others attended the service.

Some civil servants and others who planned to use the opportunity of the service to have a glimpse of the President who had been on medical vacation in London since January 19 were disappointed.

No reason was given for his absence, according to the report. It is believed that he should be taking his rest after a six-hour flight from London.
