An Okadaman has been arrested and dragged to court for stabbing a vigilante officer to death.

A 27 year old Okadaman known as Shehu Sanni, has been jailed in the Ikoyi Prison, Lagos, till September 29, when his murder case will be heard.

The commercial motorcycle rider allegedly stabbed a vigilante officer to death with a scissors during a brawl.

Sanni, who resides at No. 22, Abeokuta Street, Oko Baba, Ebute Meta, was dragged before Magistrate B.O. Ope-Agbe of the Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates' Court, on a murder charge after he reportedly stabbed the deceased, Ibukun Oguntona, for daring to challenge him for riding his motorcycle at night.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Maria Dauda, told the court that the offence was committed on July 8 at Tappa-Abeokuta Street, Ebute Meta after the accused was questioned by Oguntana.

"An argument ensued between the duo and Sanni, who had a pair of scissors in his pocket, brought it out and stabbed the deceased on his chest and stomach", Dauda said.

Dauda also noted that the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The case has been adjourned till September 29 for further hearing.
