According to an EFCC source, the anti-graft body is getting set to probe former governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime over embezzlement charges.

The very busy Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, July 30, reportedly set their sight on Chief Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, the Chief of Staff of the former Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, over alleged embezzlement.

According to reliable reports, Nwobodo's probe is a preparatory move to go against Sullivan Chime.

The woman was said to have arrived the EFCC headquarters in Abuja around 9.30am.

She was interrogated for several hours following series of petitions centered on conspiracy and diversion of Enugu State funds by the former governor and his minders.

A top official of the EFCC, spoke anonymously to Vanguard, saying, “Nwobodo’s invitation is believed to be precursor to the interrogation of her former principal as the agency is said to be flooded with petitions indicting Chime of humongous graft during his eight-year rule of Enugu State as governor from 2007 to 2015.”

Nwobodo is still being quizzed by a team of crack detectives to determine whether or not to file charges against her, report says.
