A clerk of one of the committees in the Federal House of Representatives on Monday, slumped and died at the National Assembly complex, Abuja.

A federal government senior staff identified as Mohammed Shuaibu, who is a clerk of the House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Production and Services, on Monday slumped and died at the National Assembly complex, Abuja.
 
According to a report by DailyTrust, Shuaibu reportedly slumped at about 12:00 noon while walking on a staircase and was rushed to the National Assembly clinic where he was confirmed dead by the doctors. 
 
His remains were later taken to Zaria, Kaduna State, where he hailed from for burial.
 
The chairman of the House of Reps committee, Mohammed Tahir Monguno (APC, Borno), who confirmed the death, said the clerk returned to Abuja from Zaria on Sunday ahead of a meeting of the committee.
 
He said it was before the meeting that they learnt about Shuaibu's sudden collapse and subsequent demise.
 
Monguno said Shuaibu was a hard working person and was deployed to the committee about a year ago.
