A very rare and strange aquatic mammal has left local residents in amazement after it was killed in a community lake in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo state.
The Manatee killed in Imo
A Facebook user identified as Opara Kelechi Political Thinker, took to the social networking platform and shared the photos of a marine mammal known as Manatee, which was killed at a lake in Imo state.
"These two sea lions was killed today @ Oguta Lake in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo state. Source: #Jawbreaker," he captioned the photos.
A quick check online reveals that; "Manatees are large, fully aquatic, mostly herbivorous marine mammals sometimes known as sea cows. There are three accepted living species of Trichechidae, representing three of the four living species."
