EFCC Trying to Cook Up Allegation Against Me - Sen. Melaye Raises Alarm

Following the recent happenings on the floor of the Senate, vocal Senator, Dino Melaye has raised an alarm over alleged attempts by the EFCC to go after him.

Senator Dino Melaiye has said that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC planning to cook up allegations against him.

The Senator who is currently in Morocco with the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki made this known on his Twitter handle.

Recalled that the Senate rejected Magu’s re-nomination as substantive chairman of the EFCC via a voice vote at plenary session on Wednesday, after a letter from the Department of State Services (DSS), indicated that he failed another integrity test.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital territory (FCT), Sen. Dino Melaye, had brought to the notice of Magu that the Senate on Tuesday received a letter from the DSS, stating that he failed the integrity test. However, Magu said the accusations against him were unfounded, stressing that the DSS did not give him fair hearing before writing to the Senate.

Also Senator Dino Melaye has been accused of bribing his colleagues in the Red Chambers to reject the confirmation of the appointment of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

According to Sahara Reporters, Melaye and Senator Phillip Aduda, the Senate minority leader, took it upon themselves to dole out money so the acting EFCC boss’ appointment will not be confirmed.
