BREAKING News: Peace Corps Commandant, Dickson Akoh Arraigned on 90-count Charges in Abuja

The embattled Peace Corps Commandant, Dickson Akoh and the Incorporated Trustees of Peace Corps of Nigeria, have been arraigned on a 90-count charge, before an Abuja Federal High Court.

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has on Wednesday, arraigned the National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Dickson Akoh before an Abuja Federal High Court.
 
In the 90-count charge, Akoh and the Incorporated Trustees of Peace Corps of Nigeria (ITPCN) were alleged to have in April, 2016 laundered an aggregate sum of N3.5 billion obtained from extortion.
 
The prosecution alleged that the defendants while operating as a non-profit making organization unlawfully engaged in the business of providing security services under a recruitment scheme which involved quasi-military training without approval. 
 
Akoh was alleged to have obtained huge sums of money by false pretence and laundered proceeds of extortion from unsuspecting citizens of Nigeria moving same from the ITPCN account to his personal account.
 
Akoh pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
