Unpaid Salaries: Man Commits Suicide in Bayelsa over Family Pressure (Photo)

Reports making rounds on social media reveal a state civil servant in Bayelsa has taken his own life allegedly due to massive economic hardship.

Bayelsans are gradually going into emotional depression following hardship and hunger experienced by families, over failure by the State government to meet up it's salary obligation for months, despite bailouts and Paris Club refunds.
 
According to a post today, 30th March 2017, at about 11am, a Nation Reporter, Michael Odiegwu Onyedikachi, posted on his timeline on a recent unfortunate case of a family man of about six who took suicide as an option to escape the travails meted on helpless citizens by government of the day.
 
According to the post, the incident occured at the early hours of today 30th March, Vanguard Street off Imgbi Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
 
The individual is identified to have hailed from Ekeremor Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. He committed suicide leaving behind his six children and his wife. He however no suicide note, but it was gathered he died out of frustration arising from family pressure.
 
He simply used his bed sheet to hang himself in a vacant room of an uncompleted building.
