Armed Robbers Unleash Terror on Wedding Train in Imo, Kill Cameraman, Injure Photographer

A gang of masked dare devil armed robbers at the weekend, unleashed terror on a wedding train at Mgbuishii, Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo State.

 
The joy of a wedding couple at the Mgbuishii, Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo State was cut short by a team of blood-thirsty armed robbers that attacked their wedding train on masks. The Cameraman, Mr. Isaac Ezirim doing the video coverage of the event was killed while the photographer, Mr.Julius Ashigbu and several others were injured.

According to Vanguard, the newly wedded couple (names withheld) were in Chimezie Catholic Parish, Mgbuishii, for the solemnization of their wedding and were on their way back to Owerri for the reception, when masked men suddenly jumped out of the nearby bush and attacked the bridal train.
 
A villager who helped in identifying the deceased videographer as well as the photographer narrated the incident.
 
“The hoodlums first attacked the vehicle conveying the bride and groom. Although the bullets hit the video camera man and the photographer, the driver of the vehicle sped off”,

The bandits who might have been agitated after missing the couple that was their targets unleashed terror on their family and friends coming after them.
“The hoodlums robbed the friends and relations of the couple of cash and other personal valuables, including telephone handsets”, the villager said.

The wedding was reported to be very successful, fun-filled and joyous prior to the invasion by the masked bandits.
