A security officer has met his untimely death in the hands of his colleague following an accidental discharge in Imo State.
Chidi Onyenekwu died after he was mistakenly shot by his colleague
A security officer with the Imo Security Network, accidentally killed his colleague with his Pump-action rifle. The victim died on the spot following the accidental discharge.
According Ugonna Chiji Achuko who reported the incident, the Late Mr. Chidi Onyenekwu of Onyenekwu family of Awo-Omamma Ward 1, in Oru East LGA, died after his colleagues had shot upwards during a security operation and failed to return the trigger.
In the process, Chidi Onyenekwu was reportedly hit by the remaining bullets in his chest. He died on the spot.
