A 26-year-old burglar was on Friday night disarmed of his gun by one of his victims in Abuja.
An armed robber was on Friday night, July 31, disarmed of his gun by the owner of the house he raided in Dutse Alhaji, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
It was learnt that the suspect had visited his friend at a neighbouring community known as Gwagwa, where he was said to have collected the gun, a pistol, for the robbery.
“He was busy ransacking the house when the owner of the house through the back, jumped on him, overpowered and collected the pistol from him.”
According to the source, the owner of the house also immediately alerted the police who arrived the scene and arrested the suspect and took him to the station.
A police officer at the station said the man confessed that he had earlier used the gun to rob a woman of her handbag containing some valuable items in the same area.
