A doctor has caused serious damage to a newborn baby after amputating the child's hand to save it's mother.

A little baby who was thought to have died in the womb has had its arm amputated following a medical advice by a doctor in order to save the mother's life.
However, it was later discovered that after the amputation, the baby was very much alive.
Read below as shared on Facebook by one Aishat Alubankudi:
"A man reportedly took his brother's wife to the hospital and the Dr sought and obtained his consent to amputate the child's hand and removed the baby since according to the Dr the baby had since died in the womb.
"On the medical advice that, that way the mother's life could be saved, the baby's hand was amputated and the baby was removed but only to realised that the baby was not only alive but heart and healthy."
