Lagos Shops Burnt, Properties Looted as Thugs & Hoodlums Clash in Mushin (Photos)

Some shops were burnt and property looted during an outbreak of violence in the Idi-Oro area of Mushin, Lagos, in the early hours of Monday.

There was a reported outbreak of violence and crisis in the Idi Oro area of Mushin, Lagos as rival youths engaged themselves in a fight burning shops and looting stalls in the early hours of Monday.
 
According to the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) who posted the photos on socil media, armed with machetes and axes, the hoodlums were said to have inflicted injuries on some residents as some shops were burnt and properties were massively looted.
 
 
According to some eyewitnesses, trouble started after some youth from Akala, still in Mushin, invaded Alamutu street in Idi Oro. The attackers were said to have broken into shops which they allegedly set ablaze after looting them.
 
The spokesman of the state police command, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said officers were deployed in the area and that the situation had been brought under control.
 
 
“There was a report of an incident where hoodlums were disturbing the peace. The command is observing and maintaining the peace within the axis of the state while the area remain calm,” Famous-Cole told TheCable.
