These are the Five (5) major Reasons why Muhammadu Buhari picked Prof. Osibanjo as his running Mate For The 2015 Presidential Election:

 

1. Pedigree
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is the senior partner at SimmonsCooper Partners. He is a professor of law and a former attorney-general of Lagos state and commissioner for justice. He is also a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN). He was the Dean of Law, Unilag and is the Chairman, Redeemer’s University Board of Trustees (BOT).

2. Integrity
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is controversy-free. He is regarded as a respected gentleman, and his integrity has earned him such platinum respect on both national and international levels.

3. Religion
APC says no to Muslim/Muslim ticket, this is largely a factor that earned Prof. Yemi Osinbajo the spot of being a running mate as chosen by Gen. Buhari. Osinbajo is a senior Pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God and a close ally of the General-Overseer, Pastor E.A Adeboye. He also pastors at Olive Tree House of Prayer for All Nations, Banana Island, a parish of the RCCG. Osinbajo’s emergence is seen by APC as a means to influence Christian voters during the election as it is evident that the RCCG has the largest followership base in the christian community.

4. The Awolowo factor
He is married to the granddaughter of late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. His Wife, Dolapo, is the daughter of late Otunba Ayo Soyode, the 3rd daughter of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

5. The Asiwaju Tinubu factor
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is a close confidant of the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His nomination as Buhari’s running mate had the backing of Jagaban Borgu aka Lion of Bourdillion.
