English Football club, Manchester United has said it will honour its Nigerian fans on Sunday that died while watching football at a viewing centre in Calabar.

Manchester United will on Sunday honour the confirmed seven Nigerians who lost their lives while watching the Red Devils’ Europa League against Anderlecht.

This was made official on the club's Twitter handle. The Nigerian fans had died when a transformer near the viewing centre where they were watching the match exploded twice resulting in a high tension wire dropping on the structure built with zinc electrocuting them.

"The #MUFC players will wear black armbands on Sunday in memory of the seven fans who lost their lives recently in Calabar, Nigeria." the club said on Friday.
