Police Parade LG Boss, Others Over Assassination Attempt on Senator Dino Melaye (Photos)

Following the assassination attempt made on the life of APC Senator, DIno Melaye, the Police have paraded six suspects in connection to the crime.

The police have paraded the Administrator of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Taofiq Isah; his police orderly, Sgt. James Ede, and four others in connection with the reported assassination attempt on Senator Dino Melaye at his country home in Ayetoro Gbede, Kogi State.

The suspects were alleged to have fired gunshots at the house on April 15,2017 in an attempt to kill the senator.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, who paraded the suspects at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Saturday gave their names as Isah, 54, Ede, 36, Ade Obage, 29, Abdullahi Isah, 32, Ahmed Ajayi, 45, and Michael Bamidele, 26.
 
He explained that one ambulance Hyundai bus, five AK 47 rifles, one Berreta pistol, two locally made single barrel shot gun, 25 expended shells of 7.62 mm ammunition, 13 expended shells of 9mm ammunition and 12 expended shells gauge cartridge were recovered from the suspects.
 

“The firearms have been sent for ballistic expert examination, test and analysis at the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department in Lagos,” Moshood disclosed.

The spokesman fingered the Ijumu council boss as the mastermind of the attack on Melaye, adding that he allegedly directed one Abdulmumuni, his personal assistant to recruit the gang members that carried out the attack.
