During Wednesday's plenary session at the National Assembly, Abuja, members of the Nigerian Senate, confirmed two of President Buhari's ministerial nominees.

According to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the Nigerian Senate have on Wednesday confirmed Professor Stephen Ocheni (Kogi state) and Suleiman Hassan (Gombe state) as ministers after their nomination by President Muhamamdu Buhari.

Recall that we had reported some weeks ago that President Buhari, nominated Stephen Ocheni and Suleiman Hassan to fill the vacant ministerial positions in the Federal Executive Council.

Ocheni is from Kogi State which has not had anyone in the FEC, as constitutionally required, since the death of James Ocholi (Minister of Labour & Productivity) in an accident last year.

Hassan from Gombe State, is to replace Amina Mohammed (Minister of Environment) who left Nigeria’s public service to take up top responsibility at the United Nations.
