Kidnapped Polytechnic Founder Finally Regains Freedom With Finger Chopped Off

The Nigerian polytechnic founder who was kidnapped by unknown persons, has been released but with a really serious injury.

The Akwa Ibom Police Command has confirmed the release of Idongesit Udom, former staff of Exxon Mobil and founder of Sure Polytechnic in Ukanafun Local Government Area of the state, Premium Times reports.
 
The Police Public Relations Officer, Chukwu Okechukwu, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Uyo that Mr. Udom was released on Wednesday night.
 
He said that the kidnappers chopped-off one the man’s finger while in incarceration.
 
“He was released on Wednesday night and receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
“The Police command is working tirelessly to ensure that the hoodlums do not go unpunished,” Okechukwu said.
 
Ndianabasi Udom, the victim’s son, also confirmed the release of his father.
 
He said that his father was released on Wednesday with “severe health condition due to the trauma he experienced during over one month of incarceration.’’
 
He thanked God and the security agencies for ensuring the release of his father.
 
Mr. Udom was kidnapped on April 9 at his country home in Ukanafun by four masked gunmen on his way to church.
