Reports reaching us from the Nigerian Police Force,NPF state that a 20-year old man was caught by neighbours trying to abuse a 10-year old girl sexually in Ekiti.
The campaign against child rape in Nigeria needs much intensification following frequent cases of adults abusing minors due to their vulnerablity.
The Nigerian Police has arrested have arrested a 20-year-old man named Tope Adebiyi of Afin Street, Aisegba Ekiti for allegedly attempting to rape a 10-year-old girl.
According to the report, Tope lured the little girl into his room lockin the door in an attempt to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her, but the screaming girl was able to attract the attention of neighbours who forced the door opened and safely rescued the her.
The suspect has been arrested and taken into the custody of the State CID Ado-Ekiti for investigation.
He would be charged to court after the due procedures.
