Well known Nigerian economist, Pat Utomi has stated that President Buhari can make his office appointments from one village if he chooses as long as his appointees get the job done.
Professor Utomi has urged Nigerians to rise above such “small and petty” issues and focus on moving the country forward.
The former presidential candidate made the comments during a recent interview with Daily Independent.
He said:
“Let’s get serious. Let‘s get to move this country forward and away from all this small, petty issues.”
“To me it is not an important issue and I don’t want to deal with it. The President can appoint everybody from one village.”
“As long as the people can get the job done, let them get it done. That is what Nigerians wanted and that is what they voted for”.
President Buhari has been criticized for appointing mainly northerners to serve in his government but he has denied having a northern agenda as many have claimed.
