A prominent Ondo indigene who was earlier abducted by faceless kidnappers has regained his freedom under very fuzzy circumstances.

Dr. Niran Ikuomola, the permanent secretary of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board, who was kidnapped along with his driver on Sunday evening has regained his freedom according to family sources.

The medical doctor was abducted by unknown assailants while driving along the Lokoja-Abuja expressway for a meeting in Abuja. They demanded a whooping sum of N70 million which they later reduced to N20 million.

It is not known how much the kidnappers were paid in ransom to get Dr. Ikuomola released.

The details of how the senior civil servant was released was not available as of the time of this report as efforts to reach the family on the telephone were unsuccessful.
