Students of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State this morning, Monday - 29th of May, 2017 began protest against the management of the institution over what some of them described as insensitivity of the management.
Reports gathered by an eyewitness revealed the students have been unable to secure their identity cards needed for their forthcoming examinations with authorities failing to address the challenge. Another biting issue was the ban of hotplates in the halls of residence.
A social media user who shared pictures had this to say:
"Many students I spoke to complained of their inability to secure ID cards which are required to enter exam halls ( exams were to begin this week but now postponed as a result of the protest. Others also complained over inability to use hot plates for cooking"
