For many people who didn't know, former Biafran leader Odumegwu Ojukwu had a meal with former military leader, Yakubu Gowon in Aburi before the war broke out.

A rare photo of former Biafran leader Odumegwu Ojukwu and General Yakubu "Jack" Dan-Yumma Gowon, former head of state of Nigeria eating together at a meeting attended by delegates of both the Federal Government of Nigeria and Eastern delegates to find a solution to the disunity has surfaced online.
 
The Aburi Accord was reached in 1967 at a meeting attended by delegates of both the Federal Government of Nigeria (The supreme Military Council) and the Eastern delegates, led by the Eastern Region's leader Colonel Ojukwu. The meeting was billed to be the last chance of preventing all out war. It was held between 4 and 5 January 1967.
 
The breakdown of the Aburi accord has been said to have contributed to the outbreak of the civil war.
