Senator Dino Melaye and his convoy were greeted with insults as the lawmaker arrived Kabba, a town in Kogi state where the residents who gathered on the highway were heard shouting 'Dino, Ole' - a word used to describe a thief.
Dino Melaye
We
had earlier reported on Saturday that some indigenes of Odo Ape in the Kogi West Senatorial District, said they no longer want Senator Dino Melaye as their representative as they have began the process of trying to recall him from the National Assembly.
The angry constituents claimed the federal lawmaker was not performing and that they were tired of “continuous embarrassment” he was causing them.
The collection of signatures took place at Lokoja and Kogi local government councils on Friday and continued at Ijumu, Yagba West and Yagba East on Saturday as people came out with photocopies of their permanent voter cards to put their names down.
Those who spoke to the correspondent said they were encouraged to put down their names to recall Melaye from the National Assembly, adding that they were also asked to submit photocopies of their PVCs as evidence.
A video which emerged online shows the moment the angry constituents embarrassed the lawmaker who visited the state over the weekend.
