A 28-year old woman in Bauchi state was found lying on the road lifeless following an affront with a rival lady dating her supposed boyfriend.
According to the Vanguard, 28-year old Iklima Alhassan has met her untimely demise following an altercation with a 22-year old rival named Fatima Baba Isa that she met at her lover's house in Bauchi state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Bauchi, the deceased visited her boyfriend named Nasiru Usman Banki,30 at Rafin Makaranta area, behind Awala Hotel where she bumped into Fatima. This led to a bitter fight.
Later in the day, her lifeless body was found by patroling policemen along a major road. Both lovers have been arrested for appropriate investigation.
Mohammed said, “On August 9, at about 12:50a.m, an unconscious young lady was found along Maiduguri by-pass, near Awalah Roundabout, Bauchi.
“The police patrol team attached to Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate Division visited the scene and rushed the victim to ATBU Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, were she was certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor and the corpse was deposited in the mortuary for post-mortem examination.”
The police spokesman said the deceased’s boyfriend and the other lady were arrested and were assisting the Police with useful information that could help ascertain the cause of her death.
