The Bauchi State Committee on the Recovery of Public Property who allegedly recovered several exotic cars from the wives of the past Governor are still on a mission.
It revealed on Thursday that it had foiled plans to divert 150 brand new buses donated to the state government.|
Chairman of the Committee, Air Cdr Ahmed Tijjani (Rtd), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that some functionaries in the previous administration, had attempted to corner the vehicles.
According to him, the vehicles were donated by the Chinese Government as assistance to the state, together with about 500 air conditioners. He said that information received by the committee on the plans of the culprits, helped in foiling their efforts to defraud the people of the state.
"The Committee has aborted plans to divert 150 new buses, donated to the state, by the Chinese government. There was an attempt to divert the buses to another source, but we were able to gather information and act proactively. Before the end of this month, we will start receiving the buses from the donors in batches.''
