An aide to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State has humbly tendered his resignation of office following troubling circumstances that he foresees may not change in the nearest future.
Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel
Barr. Chris Okorie, the Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel, on Electoral Matters, has resigned.
In a letter dated June 28th and addressed to the governor through the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Okorie stated his reasons to include lack of basic work tools and office space, adding that after twenty months of serving as Special Assistant to the governor, he is "yet to be assigned with duties commensurate with" his status and pedigree.
The statement reads in part, "Twenty (20) months down the road Your Excellency, I am yet to be assigned duties commensurate with my status and pedigree, nor provided with basic work tools, not even an office space. Worse still, there is no hopethat this situation will improve in the nearest future"
