The gate of the Delta State Election Petitions Tribunal, in Asaba was last Saturday night littered with palm oil and raw eggs, suspected to be fetish concoctions by unknown politicians who are pursuing their petitions before the tribunal.

Politicians in Delta state are going spiritual out of the desperation to achieve positive results from the ongoing proceedings of the Delta State Election Petitions Tribunal. The gate  of the office was on Saturday night, 15th of August littered with several fettish materials like palm oil and raw eggs, suspected to be fetish concoctions by unknown politicians with their interests at stake.

A night security guard at the Delta MultiDoors Courthouse, along Okpanam road, venue of the State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal said on Monday in Asaba that he was shocked after he discovered the fetish substances early Sunday morning.

The night guard, who gave his name simply as Lawson, described the scene of the fetish concoction as shocking and bizarre.

He said, “I was shocked when I opened the gate Sunday morning and behold, palm oil and raw eggs were poured all over the gate.

“This is very bizarre because we have never had this kind of thing here before, but since the tribunal started sitting here, we have been experiencing all manner of things,”

The guard said that whoever carried out the fetish sacrifice, must have done that in the night, adding that he had since reported the observation to the Director-General of the Multi-Door Courthouse. He revealed that since the beginning of the the election tribunal, several strange objects have been appearing within the office premises as well as the disappearance of objects like the brooms and others which are always out of shape when found.

According to him, the cleaner has been lodging similar complaints which can be obviously traced to the nefarious activities of politicians in Asaba.

Efforts to speak with the Director-General of the Multi-Door Courthouse was not successful, as she was said not to be on seat, when the Dailypost correspondent called at her office.

The Election Petitions Tribunal in Delta State upon its inaugural sitting, is conducting its hearings in three different locations in the state capital to make room for easy and quick dispensation of the petitions.
