The indigenous people of the Federal Capital Territory have suffered a setback in being represented in the governmental structure following the decision of the green chamber.

The House of Representatives, on Thursday, voted against ministerial slot for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Indigenous people of FCT had always clamoured for a ministerial slot and state of their own.

This must have informed the jubilation that rented the air in Abuja metropolis and among the indigenes, when the Senate voted in favor of a ministerial slot for FCT, on Wednesday, at the ongoing constitution amendment process.

However, the story was not the same at the green chamber, as the clause did not get the required two-thirds votes of the members.

Out of 292 members who registered their presence, only 191 voted in favor of the FCT ministerial slot; 91 voted against it while 3 members abstained.

Details shortly.
