A Facebook user has paid tribute to a handsome young man who died in the tragic accident that occurred in Felele area of Lokoja, Kogi state when a bus rammed into a petrol tanker forcing it to explode. Many people lost their lives in the sad incident.

Lilian Eze Chukwuemeka shared photos of Chinedu David Emeyazia who died in the tragedy as she paid her last respect.

She wrote: "Death! Death!! Death!!! How many times did I call you, please leave my loved ones alone. My JCI President, so Lokoja explosion just took you away from us in a twinkle of an eye. It's painful to bid farewell but God knows the best. Rest on Boss."

The accident occurred as a result of a head-on collision involving a bus and tanker laden with 33,000 litres of petrol. Witnesses said the collision ignited a fire which engulfed the two vehicles and a commercial tricycle.

Most of the victims were occupants of an 18-seater bus believed to be owned by Delta Line.

The bus was coming from the Abuja end of the road while the tanker was coming from the Okene end.

Nigerians have blamed the government for failing to make legislation that would force petrol tanker drivers undertake their journeys only in the night so as to avoid loss of lives in such a manner.
