Meet the Nigerian Customs Acting Comptroller General - John Atte

With the retirement of Dikko Abdullahi, the stage has been set to fill the post of Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who accepted the retirement letter of Dikko Abdullahi on Monday, has directed the former Customs boss to hand over to the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) in charge of Finance, Administration and Technical Service (FATS), John Atte.
 
Atte will serve in acting fcapacity rom Wednesday pending the appointment of a substantive comptroller general by the president.

According to reports, other senior customs officers in the ranks of DCG and Assistants Comptroller-General (ACG) are currently jostling to become the next customs boss.

It can be recalled that the retired boss, Abdullahi had written a letter dated August 3 to the president in which he notified Buhari of his desire to proceed on voluntary retirement from August 18
