The Kogi State House of Assembly speaker has reportedly resigned from his position after pressure was mounted on him.

The crises rocking the Kogi State House of Assembly took a new dimension today Thursday as unexpectedly, the Speaker, Umar Ahmed resigned his position.
The letter of his resignation was read by the Deputy Speaker, Hassan Abdullahi who presided the plenary sitting.
A new speaker is about to be elected but sources said, the majority leader, Kolawole Matthew has gotten the nod to be elected.
