Head Coach of the Super Eagles is said to be pissed as he makes prepartions for the September AFCON 2017 qualifier game. See what is making the new coach angry.
Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh is displeased that Nigeria league clubs are holding on to their players despite invites given to them ahead of the September 5 AFCON 2017 qualifier against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
Out of the 23 players Oliseh invited from the domestic league, only 14 outfield players attended the first training session held on Tuesday, August 18, AfricanFootball.com reports.
A disappointed Oliseh said: “Those who are commenting or laying emphasis on the fact that we rely mainly on foreign players to play should start asking questions because we are back home to train and we don’t have people to train.
“The clubs are trying to hold on to their players. So, how do we now want them to learn and catch up with the ones that are in front of them?
“You can see that it affected our training, we have to change our training programme. We had invited 23 and we ended up with 14 field players. So, I will leave you to judge from this.”
Sunday Oliseh had revealed he will pick five more players from the domestic league to join the 18 foreign pros for September big clash.
