A statement by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, has revealed that Gov. Wike, has fired all his Special Advisers.

Gov. Nyesom Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has relieved all his special advisers of their appointments.

A statement by Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Simeon Nwakaudu, however, noted that Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Bishop Winston Iwo, retains his post.

Governor Wike had recently sacked all the members of the State Executive Council.

The sack of the commissioners came 48 hours after he sacked his Commissioner for Works, Bathuel Harrison.

Also, sacking of Harrison came less than 24 hours after Austin Tan-George, his Commissioner for Information and Communication tendered his resignation over alleged “high handedness by the Governor.”

With the disengagement of all the Special Advisers, the governor can best be said to be running the executive arm of government with purely career civil servants without partisan politicians.
