A female Secondary school student is set to have her hand amputated, following a laboratory accident after a chemical poured on her hand during a practical class.

A 15-year-old Nigerian secondary student identified as Safiya Abbas, is set to have her hand amputated after she sustained serious injuries at her school following an accident in the Science lab.
It was gathered that some chemical poured on her hand during a practical class at Science Secondary School Miga, Taraba state, which damaged an entire finger.
Reports have it that the school management tried to manage the situation for two days, but had to contact her parents when things were only getting worse.
She was later taken to the state hospital, where doctors said the only remedy is to have her hand amputated.
