The leader of the #OurMumuDonDo Movement, Charly Boy has said, latest videos and pictures of Buhari are meant to deceive Nigerians.
President Muhammadu Buhari
The #ResumeOrResign protesters on Monday said they were not impressed by the pictures and video of President Muhammadu Buhari released last Saturday, saying they were meant to deceive Nigerians,
The Punch has reported.
According the group, the efforts of 'the cabal' in Buhari's government have made it impossible for Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to govern the country effectively.
Speaking to journalists during the eighth day of its protest on Monday in Abuja, the leader of the #OurMumuDonDo Movement, Charly Boy, said he watched the video many times and “could see through the deceit and lies.”
The artiste alleged that the presidential media aides, who released the pictures and video after visiting the President in London, were pressured to go to the United Kingdom by his coalition’s protests.
He said:
“We forced the FEC (Federal Executive Council) to hurriedly send some media aides to London to showcase the President. I watched the video several times and I could see the deceit and the lies.
“The President is fragile and frail; we saw a man who wants to be left alone, we saw a man who wants to rest but for the cabal. If anything happens to him, we would hold the cabal responsible; we would call them out, name them and ensure they are prosecuted.”
Meanwhile, the BBC, in a report on Sunday, listed Buhari among African presidents who did not have faith in their countries’ health systems.
Other presidents mentioned in the report were Abdelaziz Bouteflika (Algeria), Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe), Jose Eduardo dos Santos (Angola) and Patrice Talon (Benin Republic).
The report described Buhari as the “first among equals” in terms of the time spent abroad getting medical help.
After spending 49 days in the United Kingdom earlier in the year, Buhari returned to the country on May 7 and has since been there.
The report noted that Buhari did not make a single public appearance in the first two months of his current trip.
