Two Nigerians who migrated to Italy have decided to start a voluntary street sweeping exercise because they are not able to get work and they do not want to beg for money.

Wisdom and Osas who brought up the idea revealed that they earn at least 10 to 20 euros (N8505) for their effort. Wisdom further revealed that about 300 Nigerians living in refugee camps are now doing the work.

He made this known in an interview with the BBC. About 97,000 migrants have reached Italy already this year. Italy has been cracking down on migrants arriving from Libya.

This week, three aid agencies have stopped their rescue missions on the Mediterranean route from Libya.
