VIO staff, Three Others Allegedly Forge Vehicle Documents in Nasarawa

For allegedly daring to forge vehicle documents in a Nasarawa State community, a VIO and three other persons have been nabbed.

According to Punch Metro, a Vehicles Inspectorate Officer in Nasarawa State Board of Internal Revenue Board and three others have reportedly been issuing fake vehicle particulars to customers in the state.
 
Police have, however, arrested them in Maraba area of the state.
 
Confirming the arrest on Thursday in an exclusive interview with our correpondent, the Director, Motor vehicles administration, Nasarawa State Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Ibrahim Alaga-Galadima, said the suspects were arrested when they were issuing fake vehicle particulars to their victims.
 
He said: “The arrest was made following a tip that there were some persons who were parading themselves as staff of the IGR and issuing fake vehicle particulars to some of our customers at the entrance gate of some of our offices around Karu Local Government Area of the state.

“When we got the news, the board immediately swung into action and two persons were apprehended. All the suspects were taken to Maraba Police ‘B’ Division along Sani Abacha road, Karu area,” he added.
 
According to him, the suspects confessed to the crime, adding that one of them was arrested at Hard Plaza in Maraba area, alongside a vehicle insurance agent that engaged some persons to issue fake vehicle particulars to customers.
 
He added that all the three suspects were handed over to Nasarawa State Police Command and had been transferred to the state Criminal Intelligent Investigation Department for further interrogation.
 
The Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, Mr. Abubakr Sadiq-Bello, who also confirmed that the command was aware of the arrest, said investigation was ongoing.
