Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed, says the Federal Government should have quietly approach the Federal High Court Abuja which granted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu bail to revoke same.

Mohammed, a strong critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, described government’s talk about sending Kanu back to jail as “noise making.”

The former lawmaker said, “Kanu was sent to jail through a court order. And if the government feels it wants him back in custody for violating certain conditions, they can go back and tell the same court.

“What we have now shows that the executive is not in order. What the government has done is a routine thing that does not require noise making.”

Kanu, who is facing trial at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, was earlier in the year granted bail with conditions which government says he has flouted.

The Federal Government is asking the court to revoke Kanu’s bail.
