Tension as Catholic Priest is Shot Right Inside His Parish In Lagos State

A Catholic Priest is fighting for his life after armed robbers invaded his church and shot him along Abeokuta Exrpressway.

Dreaded armed robbers left many people in serious shock after they attacked St. Thomas Catholic Church, Cement Bustop, Abeokuta Exrpressway, Lagos today shooting a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. A. Nwankwo.
 
Eyewitnesses who reported the incident said men of the Nigeria police later came to the rescue of the church members.
 
Echono Samson wrote: "The Parish Priest of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Onilekere, Cement in Lagos State, Rev. Fr. A. Nwankwo, was in the early hours of Friday shot by suspected armed robbers.
 
 
According to information available to The Eagle Online, the men who shot him were part of those who attended the early morning mass.  Recall that a Catholic Priest in Owerri, Imo State, Rev. Cyriacus Onunkwo, was six days ago shot dead by armed men."
 
Henry Chijioke Nwachukwu-Ibe added: "Security Alert! There is armed robbery attack at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Cemement Bustop, Abeokuta Exrpressway, Lagos.
 
The Reverend Father was shot and he shouting for help to be taken to the hospital for urgent medical treatment. He is wet with blood and all the passers-by including commuters are scared and running for safety.
 
 
The shooting right in the church building is alarming and dreadful. Rescue and anti-robbery should swig into action without delay for safety of lives!"
