It has been revealed that Nigeria senators earn over a million naira on hardship allowance alone.

Following the revelation made by the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Professor Itse Sagay that an average Nigerian Senator earns three billion naira per annum.
A screenshot of what the lawmakers supposedly earn as allowances have been revealed on Channels television. The report by Sagay shows that Nigerian senators earn millions as 'Hardship Allowance'.
The development has forced Nigerians to call for a slash in salaries and allowances of political office holders in order to provide more money to be used for infrastructural development if the country must move forward.
