The governor of Kwara State has suspended the salaries of two traditional rulers in the state after finding out their involvement of something tragic.

Abdulfatah Ahmed, the Kwara State Governor, on Wednesday said two traditional rulers involved in communal clash in Oke Ero local government area of the state will forfeit their salaries for three months.
According to Punch Metro, the affected traditional rulers are the Alofa of Ilofa, Oba Samuel Dada; and the Olota of Odo Owa, Oba Toba Adimula.
He also said they have been restricted to their domains and would only go out of their domains with the permission of the chairman of the Transition Implementation Committees of their local government areas.
Ilofa and Odo Owa communities engaged in communal clash in May 2017 over superiority contest on the community that should first sell fresh yam in the common market in the area.
Speaking with journalists after the state executive council meeting in Ilorin, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Haruna Muhammad, said the decision formed part of the consideration of the White Paper on judicial commission of inquiry on Ilofa/Odo Owa communal clash.
The commissioner also said the rulers would not attend traditional council meeting, or any government function until the expiration of the stated period.
Muhammad also said the common central market in the two communities would henceforth be used by members of the general public solely for commercial purposes such as buying and selling, and not for cultural or traditional activities.
The Commissioner for Information, Tunde Ajeigbe, said the state government had commenced prosecution of those identified to have been involved in the communal clash.
He added that the state executive council had also directed the Secretary to the State Government to write the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lawan Addo, to increase police presence in the two communities for purpose of maintaining law and order.
The Senior Special Assistant to Ahmef on Media and Communication, Dr. Muideen Akorede, announced the appointment of new Head of Service in the state.
He said the new HOS is Mrs. Susan Dupe Oluwole, who will take over from the retired HOS, Hajia Sarah Omar.
