A Nigerian man who uses concocted text messages to defraud unsuspecting victims has been apprehended by security operatives.
The fraudster, Ojotomobor Ovuakponye
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the conviction of one Ojotomobor Ovuakponye before Honourable Justice Mohammed Yahaya of the Kano State High Court sitting in Gezawa.
The convict fraudulently obtained the sum of N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) from the account of one Jummai Ruqayya Mohammed through the bank account of his girlfriend under the guise that he is a staff of Guaranty Trust Bank by sending fraudulent SMS to the complainant that her bank account had a problem and that she should contact her bank but unknown to her, she ended up contacting the convict.
