How Man Promised Woman Marriage and Duped Her of N1.9m

A Nigerian man has been caught after he tricked a woman with marriage proposal in Lagos state and duped her millions.

The real details how a Nigerian man Mr Ebuka Okeke duped a single lady, Ogochukwu the sum of N1.9 million by promising to marry her has been revealed.
 
Revealing the details, PM Express gathered that Okeke fronted his wife as his sister before duping the woman. Okeke who was already married planned with his wife and introduced her to Ogochukwu as his sister to enable him obtain the money from her. 
 
It was gathered that whenever Ogochukwu visited Okeke in his house, the wife will pretend that he was her elder brother and will give them privacy to stay as lovers.
 
It went on like that for several months until Okeke obtained the whole money before it got exposed when Okeke failed to marry her. The 29-year old Okeke was arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly obtaining the money from Ogochukwu under the false pretence that he will marry her.
 
Apart from obtaining the money, Okeke brought a baked cake and used it to administer oath on her that she will not tell anyone that he collected the money to marry her. The incident happened between March and July this year at Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos where the suspect and the complainant reside.
 
The matter was reported to the Police at Area M Command, Idimu and Okeke was arrested and taken to the Command for interrogation. Okeke admitted that he collected the money from her and promise to marry her as claiming it was his family members that were not in support.
 
Okeke has been charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates court for obtaining under false pretence and placing the victim under false oath. He pleaded not guilty.
 
The presiding Magistrates, Mr Akeem Fashola granted Okeke bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail condition and the matter further adjourned till 18th of October, 2017.
