Independence Day: President Buhari Arrives Maiduguri to Celebrate with Troops Fighting Boko Haram (Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, arrived Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to celebrate Nigeria's 57th Independence Anniversary with troops fighting Boko Haram.

TORI News had reported earlier that President Muhammadu Buhari has left Abuja, the federal capital territory, and is on his way to Maiduguri, Borno State Capital to support soldiers fighting in the northeast.
 
According to photos shared on social media by the president's official photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, the president has finally arrived safely in the North-eastern state of Borno to celebrate with the military troops as millions of Nigerians mark the 57th independence anniverssary.
 
Bayo shared Buhari's photo on arrival in the state and wrote; "President Buhari visited troop of the Nigerian Armed Forces at the headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri Borno State in celebration of 57th Independence anniversary on 1st Oct 2017."
 
The president's personal assistant on social media, Bashir Ahmad had earlier tweeted;
