Bony had been linked with moves to Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal but, following injuries to City’s three frontmen last month, Manuel Pellegrini has moved to complete a deal for a fourth striker.
Bony was the highest scoring Premier League forward for 2014 and will join up with City after the Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
