Commotion as Calabar Road Divides Into Two Forcing Passenger Bus to Fall Inside (Photos)

Many people were stranded yesterday after a dangerous sinkhole appeared along the Calabar/Ikom highway in Cross River state.

Passengers were left in a state of shock after the Calabar/Ikom highway caved in at Iwuru, Biase LGA of Cross River state forcing a bus to fall inside it. The road divided into two as a result of the sinkhole.
 
The incident left many people trapped although the number of casualties is yet to be released. The sad incident happened yesterday and caused serious traffic gridlock. Other motorists were advised to follow alternative routes.
 
 
According to reports, the highway has remained a nightmare for motorists and commuters for years now, as they spend over five to six hours driving to Ikom from Calabar, instead of two or three hours due to bad road.
