The army recaptured Gomboru Ngala town and chased off the terrorists.

The Nigerian military has successfully retaken Gomboru Ngala town in Borno State from terrorists, who had recaptured the town from the military after the community was initially liberated by troops.

Two weeks ago, the Nigeria Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai and his counterpart Air Force Chief, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar paid a daring trip to the deadly frontline in Ngala where they cheered soldiers in the field and tasked them to ensure Boko Haram are flushed out of Gamboru town

Ngala is about 6km away from Gamboru border town, hence they share combined name of Gamboru-Ngala for the local government area.

A statement issued by the Spokesman of the Nigeria Army, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said the combined force of the air and land troops finally brought Boko Haram to their knees in Gamboru border town today.

“The Nigerian Army has retaken the economic and strategic town of Gomboru-Ngala in Borno State, from the Boko Haram terrorists group today”, Colonel Usman’s brief statement reads.

“The triumphant troops are now busy with clearing and mopping up patrols. Details to come up later later”.
