In a surprise move, the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has given the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Kaduna State branch a strong backing to stage a rally against the sacking of 22,000 primary school teachers.

This is in disregard to the ban against such gathering by the Kaduna State government. Thousands converged in defiance of the state government unannounced to protest the sack.

Labour leaders started converging in Kaduna since Monday for what they are claiming would end up being the mother of all rallies.

Sources told DAILY POST that anything close to what is going down in Kaduna right now, is that of the Imo State rally.

As at the time of filing this report, the rally was ongoing.
